I have never been more excited to write a GFI blog. (And I like to write blogs.) That’s because I get to share some very exciting news:

Thanks to gifts from two visionary donors, GFI has launched a $3 million competitive grant program to support open-source plant-based and clean meat research.

Take a moment and read that previous sentence again.

Now, take a moment and imagine what it will be like to have an opportunity to do cutting-edge science in a field that has both tremendous space to carve out your own niche and also the potential to help mitigate climate change, antibiotic resistance, and global food insecurity. Plant-based and clean meat research have huge potential to catalyze the evolution of our food system, solve critical global issues, and lead to rewarding careers for scientists working in this space — and GFI wants to help you pursue this work.

You can find all the details here. We can’t wait to see what inspired, world-changing, ground-breaking science you propose.
