Advancing biomanufacturing capabilities for food production promotes food security, supply chain resilience, and biosecurity. As the Department of Defense (DoD) plans to invest $1 billion in biomanufacturing over the next several years, GFI recommends that DoD prioritize biotechnology-based food production under the Defense Production Act Investments Program.
