Tamar Lieberman leads the Policy Department’s state legislative efforts and campaigns for public research to accelerate progress on alternative proteins.

Before joining GFI, Tamar Lieberman served as an Associate Director for State Policy and Partnerships at the Council for a Strong America. There, she led advocacy campaigns to improve early childhood outcomes across a portfolio of states. She engaged local leaders — business executives, law enforcement leaders, and retired Flag and General Officers — to drive policy change and support increased public funding. Prior to that, Tamar worked on state-level policy and issue advocacy at the Massachusetts State House and for the Humane Society of the United States. She holds a B.A. in Politics from Brandeis University.
