Nicholas Goldsmith, Ph.D.

Nicholas Goldsmith supports GFI’s partnerships with research funders in the US.

Prior to joining GFI, Nicholas worked as an Assistant Program Director at the National Science Foundation (NSF), where he managed grant programs, conducted portfolio analyses, and helped develop programs. During this time he also worked on research funding partnerships with foreign governments, other Federal agencies, and industry. Nicholas was a AAAS Policy Fellow at NSF, holds a bachelor’s degree in plant biology from Purdue University and earned a Ph.D. in ecology, evolution, and behavior from the University of Minnesota with a focus on quantitative genetics of native plant populations.
