Mike advises GFI’s federal legislative work. He has 20 years of legislative, political, and advocacy experience. He served as senior legislative staff to two Members of Congress, where he specialized in the appropriations process. Mike’s work in politics includes four years as Policy Director of the House Democrats’ national campaign arm, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. He was also staff on the 2008 Obama for America Campaign and previously worked for the Congressional & Public Affairs Division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Mike has leveraged his Capitol Hill experience to win numerous campaigns for animal protection and for the alternative protein sector on Capitol Hill. His advocacy achievements have been featured in The Hill, NPR, Science Magazine, The Guardian, and The New York Times.
