
Margaret Badding
POLICY SPECIALIST
Margaret works with the Policy and Government Relations team to advance policies supporting the alternative protein sector. Margaret researches policy opportunities, conducts outreach to decision makers in the executive and legislative branches, and writes policy briefs, comments, and other content focused on alternative proteins.
Areas of expertise: Research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, content creation, environmental policy.

Prior to joining GFI, Margaret worked as a Research Associate at the Environmental Law Institute (ELI), a nonpartisan environmental law and policy think tank. At ELI, she supported various programs through research and writing, including projects to advance plant-based proteins. Margaret grew up in upstate New York and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) and Psychology, with a minor in Environmental Studies.
