Kelsey Favret sets strategy and works directly with GFI’s Leadership donors in securing philanthropic contributions to support our work in transforming the global food system.

Areas of expertise: individual giving, stewardship, event planning and coordination

Kelsey uses she/her pronouns.

Kelsey joined GFI after seven years as an arts fundraising professional, most recently as the Assistant Director of Development at the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. She brings experience in many aspects of nonprofit work from frontline fundraising to large-scale event planning and arts administration. Kelsey is particularly interested in Community-Centric Fundraising, a funding model grounded in equity and social justice, and leads a working group for fundraisers in the Raleigh-Durham area who are interested in incorporating these principles into their work. She received her BA in both communication and dance from the College of Charleston. Kelsey is passionate about animal rescue and advocacy and works closely with a local animal shelter as a volunteer, foster, and development committee member.
