Austin oversees GFI’s Research Grant Program and works to increase the amount of open-access research on plant-based and cultivated meat to inspire new innovations. Prior to GFI, he was a Research Analyst with the World Resources Institute, a global sustainable development think-tank, where he advised companies and governments about how to reduce food waste and worked with guitar companies to improve timber sourcing practices. Austin holds a B.A. from Macalester College and is pursuing his M.B.A. at University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
