The Future of Innovation, Sustainability, and the Law Symposium
Event description
Join Madeline Cohen, associate director of regulatory affairs at the Good Food Institute, at Northwestern Pritzker Law’s Third Annual Animal Law Symposium, The Future of Innovation, Sustainability, and the Law.
Bringing together experts in law, policy, entrepreneurship, and food systems, the symposium will explore the challenges and opportunities emerging at the intersection of animal welfare, sustainability, regulation, and innovation. The program is designed to spark thoughtful discussion across disciplines and create space for deeper engagement with some of the biggest questions shaping the future of our food system.
At 2:15 pm, Madeline will speak on Panel II: Financing Food Innovation: Legal and Policy Issues in Alternative Proteins and the Future of Animal Welfare, alongside investors and food innovation leaders. Drawing on GFI’s work to help create a clear, science-based path to market for alternative proteins, she will bring a practical policy perspective to the legal and regulatory issues influencing the field’s progress.
The afternoon will also include a panel on barriers to sustainable agriculture and paths to reform, followed by a reception and poster presentation. With both virtual and in-person attendance options available, the event is expected to draw a wide mix of founders, advocates, academics, students, and other stakeholders interested in the future of food and law.
