Event description

The Good Food Institute is excited to support the African Food Research Conference 2026, organized by the Centre for African Food Research and Innovation under the theme Fund to Feed Africa.

The conference is being led by Nicholas Alifa, founder of the University of Reading Alt Protein Project and Principal Investigator for CAFRI. We’re thrilled to see an APP leader advancing this important work and creating a platform that connects African researchers with the institutions, funders, policymakers, and industry partners positioned to help their work grow.

Across Africa, researchers are advancing promising work in areas including plant proteins, fermentation, food processing, and indigenous ingredient development. AFRIC 2026 will spotlight that talent while fostering the relationships and resources needed to strengthen African-led food research.

The two-day program will feature keynote presentations, expert panels, research showcases, and recognition of emerging researchers through CAFRI’s African Food Research Advancement Programme.

The conference will be livestreamed on LinkedIn and YouTube, making it easy to join from anywhere. Tune in when you can and help celebrate the researchers and leaders shaping the future of food innovation across Africa.
