About

The mission of the UNSAM Alt Protein Project is to position our university, and ultimately Argentina, as a global leader in alternative protein innovation. We aim to do so by fostering a culture of cutting-edge research, sustainable practices, and educational excellence in the alternative protein field.

The National University of San Martin (UNSAM) offers strong programs in Biotechnology, Agricultural Biotechnology Engineering, Food Engineering, and Biomedical Engineering, among others, both at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. In addition to having strong programming in key disciplines for the alternative protein field, UNSAM is also located near major food companies like Nestlé, La Serenísima, and Arcor, that would allow for ample academic-industry collaboration. 

We believe students are agents of change and we aim to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue between students, faculty, and researchers.
