About
The UNESP Alt Protein Project is a student-led initiative and our work focuses on increasing alternative protein education and research at our institution. UNESP consists of 31 institutes and has 24 campuses spread across São Paulo state. Our group is primarily composed of three research teams with our goal to bring alternative protein innovation to our university in various ways.
One group works on the development of 3D-printed scaffolds for cultivated meat. Another group focuses on plant-based and unconventional food plants (UFPs). The third group works on fermentation in the development of low-cost proteins.
Furthermore, the UNESP APP works closely with the UNESP Center for Innovative Technologies. Together, we understand that we can make greater strides along all three areas of our research at UNESP.
