We are the UChicago Alt Protein Project, a group of students passionate about alternative proteins and the future of food. Together, we share the dream of a global food system that’s better for the planet, people, and animals.
Our main priority is to create an inclusive community that generates excitement and awareness for alternative proteins among students and faculty. This looks like speaker events, food tastings, networking, and reading groups. Beyond this, we aim to educate students about alternative proteins and to help them build their careers. This means creating alternative protein courses at UChicago in the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, working with our Career Advancement Office, and helping students find relevant and exciting research projects.
