This time\, we’ll be hearing from three experts in finfish cell culture about how they are applying learnings from their previous research to cultivated seafood. The first hour of the event will feature short talks from our three experts (9am EST / 2pm CET / 6:30pm IST). We’ll then move to Meetaway for networking. \n\n\n\nUse the above registration button to sign up for the webinar\, and be sure to sign up here to attend the networking portion of the event on Meetaway. \n\n\n\n\n\nMeet the speakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Mukunda Goswami\n\n\n\n\n\nPRINCIPAL SCIENTIST\, ICAR-CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF FISHERIES EDUCATION \n\n\n\nDr. Goswami has more than 20 years of experience in fisheries research and has led the establishment of a national repository of fish cell lines in India. He is now developing and characterizing fish cell lines from several indigenous fishes\, starting with zebrafish as a model organism. Dr. Goswami will be speaking on the opportunities and challenges for cellular aquaculture as an alternative to conventional seafood. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Kristin Schirmer\n\n\n\n\n\nPARTNER\, AQUATOX-SOLUTIONS \n\n\n\nDr. Schirmer earned her Ph.D. in biology from the University of Waterloo. She is a trendsetter in the development of alternatives to conventional tests with fish by means of fish cell lines and fish embryos. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Stephan Fischer\n\n\n\n\n\nCEO\, AQUATOX-SOLUTIONS \n\n\n\nDr. Schirmer earned his Ph.D. in environmental sciences at Eawag and ETH Zurich. During their presentation\, he and Dr. Schirmer will explain how fish cell lines are derived and what properties they have. They will then provide examples of how these cell lines can be used to assess chemical risk\, water quality\, and improve aquaculture and fish health. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming events\n\n\n\nView all events\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n November 12\, 2026\n \n Virtual Event\n \n \n \n The Science of Alt Protein: Genome-scale modeling of porcine cell metabolism\n \n \n \n Explore how a GFI-funded genome-scale metabolic model can reveal porcine cell nutrient requirements and inform lower-cost culture media for cultivated…

SUMMARY:Computer modeling in cultivated meat
DESCRIPTION:The emerging landscape of computer modeling in cultivated meat\n	Share this page on Facebook\n	\n	Share on Facebook\n\n\n	Share this page on Twitter\n	\n	Share on X\n\n\n	Share this page on LinkedIn\n	\n	Share on LinkedIn\n\n\n\nPast\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for our next Science of Alt Protein seminar where members of the Cultivated Meat Modeling Consortium will describe how computational modeling can accelerate the optimization of both processes and products. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCultivated Meat \n\n\n\nModeling Consortium\n\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent description\n\n\n\nCultivated meat promises to solve some of the world’s most urgent problems\, including feeding ten billion people by 2050\, preserving ocean ecosystems\, and reducing animal agriculture’s impact on the climate. Yet\, to fulfill this promise requires that the cultivated meat field first develop efficient processes that create desirable products. \n\n\n\nThe Cultivated Meat Modeling Consortium (est. 2019) believes using computational modeling can accelerate the optimization of both processes and products\, enabling the field to mature into an industry years before it otherwise would\, while also reducing the cost of that transformation. Their aim is to develop the computational modeling technologies needed to achieve this acceleration. \n\n\n\nJoin us on March 24th to hear directly from engineers and scientists involved in CMMC projects and their journey thus far. \n\n\n\n\n\nMeet the presenters\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCultivated Meat Modeling Consortium\n\n\n\n\n\nThe mission of the Cultivated Meat Modeling Consortium (CMMC) is to accelerate the delivery of affordable high-quality cultivated meat products the consumer market demands. The members’ vision is to collaborate on the development of computational modeling approaches the industry can use to optimize growth processes and product characteristics. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming events\n\n\n\nView all events\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n November 12\, 2026\n \n Virtual Event\n \n \n \n The Science of Alt Protein: Genome-scale modeling of porcine cell metabolism\n \n \n \n Explore how a GFI-funded genome-scale metabolic model can reveal porcine cell nutrient requirements and inform lower-cost culture media for cultivated…
