Acting Managing Director of GFI Asia Pacific Mirte Gosker will participate in a panel to discuss how alternative proteins fit into the future of food tech. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent description\n\n\n\nMirte will speak on the panel “What’s next in food tech?” on March 11. \n\n\n\nPanelists will discuss the following questions: What are the latest innovations on the horizon in the food sector? The alternative protein space\, from microbial fermentation to cell-based cultures\, is picking up speed\, with commercialisation pathways emerging over the next two to five years and Singapore becoming a hotbed for innovation and approvals. Which regions in Asia will next adopt alternative proteins? Where in Asia is drone and satellite surveillance making the most inroads and positive impact? What is the latest in R&D around animal feed that leads to less methane emissions? \n\n\n\nLearn more about Mirte’s session by visiting the event agenda here. \n\n\n\n\n\nGFI speaker\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMirte Gosker\n\n\n\n\n\nACTING MANAGING DIRECTOR\, GFI APAC \n\n\n\nMirte Gosker leads GFI Asia Pacific as Acting MD\, accelerating the markets for plant-based and cultivated meat through research and innovation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore about Mirte\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming events\n\n\n\nView all events\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n October 13\, 2026\n McNamara Alumni Center\n \n \n \n Bridge2Food North America\n \n \n \n Join GFI at Bridge2Food North America\, where food industry leaders will gather to explore the latest developments in ingredient innovation… \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n October 13\, 2026\n FAO Headquarters\n \n \n \n World Food Forum 2026: Protein diversification for the Global South\n \n \n \n How can protein diversification strengthen food systems across the Global South? SUMMARY:Accelerating AgriTech: The race to feed the world
DESCRIPTION:Accelerating AgriTech: The race to feed the world\n	Share this page on Facebook\n	\n	Share on Facebook\n\n\n	Share this page on Twitter\n	\n	Share on X\n\n\n	Share this page on LinkedIn\n	\n	Share on LinkedIn\n\n\n\nPast\n\n\n\n\nTune into this inaugural lunch & learn virtual session for a relaxed chat with experts on understanding AgriTech’s current state of play and to map the outlook for this exciting industry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent description\n\n\n\nThe boom in food engineering and agriculture technology\, or AgriTech\, is rewriting the playbook for one of the world’s oldest\, and most polluting industries. \n\n\n\nPrecision agriculture\, for example\, is helping farmers make better decisions with information about their soil\, water\, crop\, and climatic conditions. This is especially crucial in countries where smallholder farmers still struggle to get their yield up\, to meet rising demand. On the ecological front\, the growth of alternative proteins represents a sustainable alternative to business-as-usual animal agriculture. Many start-ups and entrepreneurs in this growing space are now working to solve agricultural challenges such as low agricultural productivity\, poor efficiency in the supply chain and lack of access to credits and loans. \n\n\n\nThis has led to the sector witnessing an investment boom\, despite the pandemic. What are some of the unrealized potential in the food and AgriTech sectors? Can it evolve to solve the impending food security crises? Attend this session to hear thoughts from industry experts. \n\n\n\n\n\nGFI speaker\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nShuli Goh\n\n\n\n\n\nPOLICY SPECIALIST\, GFI APAC \n\n\n\nShuli is GFI’s Policy Specialist for the APAC region. Shuli leverages her expertise in geopolitical analysis to develop impactful policies that drive engagement and support for alternative proteins. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMore about Shuli\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming events\n\n\n\nView all events\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n October 13\, 2026\n McNamara Alumni Center\n \n \n \n Bridge2Food North America\n \n \n \n Join GFI at Bridge2Food North America\, where food industry leaders will gather to explore the latest developments in ingredient innovation… \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n October 13\, 2026\n FAO Headquarters\n \n \n \n World Food Forum 2026: Protein diversification for the Global South\n \n \n \n How can protein diversification strengthen food systems across the Global South? Though their ideas and innovations are plentiful\, the opportunities and access to capital for leaders of color are not. Content will focus on ways the SPECTRUM community can help ensure that communities of color gain equal access to resources\, services\, and opportunities.Inclusion – An inclusive economy ensures that resources are fairly distributed across communities and opportunities are created for all to thrive. We will identify ways to build inclusive networks that disrupt dominant negative narratives and empower people to share ideas and collaborate. Action – Closing the racial wealth gap is an economic and moral necessity. How do we recognize and support people of color who are on the frontlines designing solutions through businesses\, investing\, and creating a positive impact within their communities?  Highlight what is working locally\, regionally\, nationally and internationally. How are we sustaining collective action? \n\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming events\n\n\n\nView all events\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n October 13\, 2026\n McNamara Alumni Center\n \n \n \n Bridge2Food North America\n \n \n \n Join GFI at Bridge2Food North America\, where food industry leaders will gather to explore the latest developments in ingredient innovation… \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n October 13\, 2026\n FAO Headquarters\n \n \n \n World Food Forum 2026: Protein diversification for the Global South\n \n \n \n How can protein diversification strengthen food systems across the Global South?
