SUMMARY:Breaking the Divide: Depolarizing Food\, Farming\, and Innovation
DESCRIPTION:Breaking the Divide: Depolarizing Food\, Farming\, and InnovationPast\n\n\n\n\nJoin GFI’s Elliot Swartz and other experts for an online discussion on how we can depolarize conversations around food\, farming\, and innovation. Learn how cultivated meat and other solutions can complement traditional approaches to create a more sustainable\, inclusive food system. \n\n\n\n	Share this page on Bluesky\n \n	Share on Bluesky\n\n\n	Share this page on Threads\n \n	Share on Threads\n\n\n	Share this page on Twitter\n	\n	Share on X\n\n\n	Share this page on LinkedIn\n	\n	Share on LinkedIn\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nRegister\n\n\n\n	\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent description\n\n\n\nJoin GFI’s Elliot Swartz\, Lead Scientist for Cultivated Meat\, for an interactive discussion about how to move from division to dialogue. Organized by Generation Climate Europe’s Food Team\, this online event will explore how polarization impacts sustainable food conversations and how we can foster more constructive\, inclusive public discourse. \n\n\n\nElliot will join a diverse panel to share perspectives on navigating polarized food narratives\, reducing misinformation\, and creating space for shared values — especially when it comes to innovative solutions like cultivated meat. Together with other speakers\, he’ll reflect on how alternative proteins can be positioned not as replacements\, but as part of a broader toolkit alongside regenerative agriculture and other approaches to meet climate\, nutrition\, and food security goals. \n\n\n\nThe session will cover: \n\n\n\n\nHow public perception\, communication\, and identity shape debates about food and farming\n\n\n\nThe role of misinformation and how to counter it\n\n\n\nBridging traditional and innovative solutions to build common ground\n\n\n\nHow young people and emerging leaders can drive constructive\, solutions-focused conversations\n\n\n\n\nWhether you’re a student\, farmer\, activist\, or simply curious about where food and farming are headed\, this discussion will offer ideas and inspiration for creating a more open and connected dialogue about our shared food future. \n\n\n\n\n\nGFI speaker\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nElliot Swartz\, Ph.D.\n\n\n\nPRINCIPAL SCIENTIST\, CULTIVATED MEAT \n\n\n\nElliot’s work at GFI focuses on analyzing the technical and economic bottlenecks facing the cultivated meat industry\, identifying opportunities to accelerate the industry\, and educating scientists\, the public\, and other industry stakeholders. Elliot holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of California\, Los Angeles (UCLA)\, where he worked with induced pluripotent stem cells to model neuromuscular disease. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming events\n\n\n\nView all events\n\n\n\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n October 13\, 2026\n McNamara Alumni Center\n \n \n \n Bridge2Food North America\n \n \n \n Join GFI at Bridge2Food North America\, where food industry leaders will gather to explore the latest developments in ingredient innovation… \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n October 13\, 2026\n FAO Headquarters\n \n \n \n World Food Forum 2026: Protein diversification for the Global South\n \n \n \n How can protein diversification strengthen food systems across the Global South?
